i wrote a whole thank you speech for an award i haven't even won. is that weird? i mean, i practically had the entire thing memorized. is it possible to be the only person preparing for victory in the depths of reality where my name probably won’t even be called? the real kicker is how i’m staring at my notes while imagining all the people cheering and suddenly feeling a little ridiculous. but why do we always put ourselves on these little stages, ready to take a bow when nobody is watching?
