i was voluntold to work this weekend. they told me during the fire drill, like it was part of the safety protocol or something. now i'm considering what to wear—should it be something cute, just in case i lock eyes with a stranger who also hates their life? all of a sudden, my mind is crafting our epic meet-cute... and then, bam! the fire alarm goes off again.
