so my art supplies went missing and everyone says “at least you had that creativity for those years” but they dont get it, i WAS the creativity, now its like losing my left hand and trying to draw with my right but the only thing im good at is finger painting and like, that just aint it

i sometimes find myself staring at my childhood art supplies and think about how i never let myself paint again after that one judge critiqued my work in middle school, like i just turned my back and walked away but really it was so much more than that and now all i can do is wonder if i could have been someone else if only i had kept going
