Stories: so i just realized i spent my entire afternoon wrestling with a tube of toothpas…

sitting on my lumpy couch in this dim apartment—barely making ends meet on a salary that seems to vanish before my eyes—while my friends post pictures of their vacations and new cars, all i can think about is how i threw away everything chasing that one last big win at the casino that never came, like a fool staring at a blank screen in a dim room waiting for a call that never arrives.

i just realized that i was convinced my plants were all gonna die but somehow they all bloomed this spring and the one i thought was completely dead sprouted the prettiest flowers, honestly i can't believe i managed to keep them alive through the winter, now i just want to stare at them instead of working.

so i just realized i spent my entire afternoon wrestling with a tube of toothpaste that had clearly declared war on my morning routine and yet, here i am thinking how hilarious it is that i can’t even squeeze a little happiness out of a simple task but somehow i can watch my mom stroke out on video chat from halfway across the world, thanks to a bunch of absurd travel laws that say i might as well be on mars if i cross the border for a visit—like, how is the universe so terrible at doing anything simple.

just had the most insane morning ever, like i was SURE the plumbing issue was going to cost me everything and it turned out to be just a loose valve and wow, now i can finally breathe without that weight on my chest like it's actually kind of mind blowing that life just WORKED OUT for once, can you believe that?
