i thought i was going to be a complete wreck after finding out my brother went off the rails again and yet somehow my parents didn't completely drain their savings this time – like, i don't know how it worked but they finally seemed to get that pushing him money isn’t going to save him, it is such a relief but still feels surreal like am i dreaming or what.
sat in a café watching a group at the next table discuss their startup ideas and like everyone was nodding along like they understood the lingo and i just sat there sipping my barely warm coffee wondering how i ended up with a roommate who only eats vegan and my three-year-old couch is basically a sponge now from the spills i guess it makes me feel all... oh i dont know like am i supposed to jump into that conversation or just keep staring at the table as they get excited over raising hundreds of thousands of dollars or whatever while i barely scraped together my paycheck to afford avocado toast, seriously it's a bit much to take in when you are at this... awkward age where every laugh feels forced.

just tried to bake a cake from scratch because i thought it would be therapeutic and somehow i ended up with flour everywhere and a lumpy mess instead. now the kitchen looks like a disaster and i am pretty sure i just ruined the only whisk i had.
