I spent four years in college chasing after a degree that sounded impressive on paper, but in reality, I never really enjoyed the subject. I just wanted to make my parents proud and avoid student loans, which only added to the pressure. Now that I’m graduating in a month, I find myself more anxious about finding a job I actually care about than I am about the ceremony itself. I wish I had the courage to follow my passion instead of what was “practical.” It’s funny how we’re told to take the safe route when the real world doesn’t even have a clear map.
