i tried to buy some soap today but they wouldn’t let me use cash since i don’t have an id and it just made me think about how ridiculous it is that people think being undocumented means you don’t deserve basic hygiene or dignity like is that really the world we live in where they just decide your worth is based on a stupid piece of paper and now i am stuck feeling so gross and invisible…

just got the call about my application to volunteer at the animal shelter, and they want me to start next week. thought they’d be put off by my background, but they actually seem excited — i can’t believe it actually worked out after all the dread from before.
