literally cannot believe my family keeps bringing up my ex like they are some kind of Netflix series they never finished. do they think he’s just going to show up at Thanksgiving, wearing the same oversized sweater from 2018 and reenact his epic potato salad failure? honestly, it feels like they are more invested in his comeback story than my actual happiness.

I miss the way it supported me through existential crises and lunch breaks filled with regrets about my life choices. I didn’t realize how much I’d miss daydreaming about retiring in the comfort of that worn-out fabric, while now I’m one paintbrush away from declaring bankruptcy and I can’t afford to even paint!
