Why do people act like we’re all supposed to know how to properly negotiate a salary? I just spent 30 minutes Googling “how to ask for a raise” and the top results were basically just articles on how to confidently say “please, sir, can I have some more?” It’s like the corporate world is an episode of Survivor and the only challenge is figuring out how to not get voted off the financial island. Sometimes I think about how I’m basically just a character in a video game constantly trying to level up, but instead of XP, I’m collecting embarrassing moments. Like, remember that time I tried to flirt and ended up spilling my drink all over my crush? Classic side quest fail. But does anyone else feel like adulthood is just pretending to know what you're doing while actually just Googling "how t...
