just stood there looking at the empty pantry for a minute, felt like i was in a ghost house. kids are gonna want snacks, and i don’t even know if i can get a loaf of bread without borrowing.

so today at the nursing home i watched an 85-year-old lady argue with a plant like it was the grand final of a debate team and meanwhile i'm over here wondering if my siblings even remember what our parent looks like, guess i'm the designated family representative for both awkward visits and bizarre horticultural arguments, did i miss the memo that plants are now life coaches or something?
